Reflection
Lord, tonight You remind me that:A) As You shielded David from Saul’s jealousy, You shield our covenant from harm.
My Rhema:
Shalom, shalom, my love, Musab. So right now I'm reading 1 Samuel 18, and what Rema to me is that this time Saul already knew that God was about to take the kingdom from him because the previous chapters in chapter 16, it was about Samuel telling Saul that he will be replaced by another king. And so by this time, he already knew that he was being kicked out of his own kingdom because of his disobedience, but he was really proud because he did not revere the word of God. He held on to his power. And so he thought he could hold on to his power, but when he saw that David had the anointing of God and that the people were singing, "Saul has slain his thousands and David his ten thousands," he was envious of David because he refused to let his kingship go, and he did not revere the word of God through Prophet Samuel, and that is why he became distressed looking at David. Okay. So there was a distressing spirit from God. See, anxiety is not just coming from ourselves, but it can come from God to Saul because he was disobedient. And when God is not pleased with you, He can bring negative things to you. Not everything negative is from Satan, as we can see in verse 10 here: "It happened on the next day that the distressing spirit from God came upon Saul." And so he wanted to kill David, okay, because he was afraid of David. Verse 12: "Because the Lord was with him and he had departed from Saul." So Saul knew this. He knew this. "Therefore, Saul removed David from his presence and made him leader over his army. And David behaved wisely in all his ways, and the Lord was with him. Therefore, when Saul saw that he behaved very wisely, he was even more afraid." "But all Israel and Judah loved David because he went out and came in before them." So this one Israel and Judah loved David because Saul was just in his throne. He was not among the people. And David was really just like King Jesus, because King Jesus came to Earth to be with men. He came to Earth to be among us, and so was David when he went out and came in before ordinary men. And this is what drawed many people to David more than to Saul, okay? Because Saul was an unreachable king. He loved his power. And so David marries Michal. He was supposed to marry the older daughter, Merab. And Saul secretly planned to, I don't know. He hated David, but he also wanted him part of his family. It's weird, this guy. So David said to Saul in verse 18, "Who am I, and what is my life or my father's family in Israel, that I should be son-in-law?" But when the time that Merab was to be given to David, she was given to Adriel. So why is this? I'm questioning. Okay, you said she would be given to David, but now you gave her to Adriel. What is that? This Saul is really a liar. He cannot keep his word. He's just mischievous. But Michal loved David. Okay, we're in verse 20. And so Saul was happy, and Saul said, "I will give her to him that she may be a snare." What the heck? It's really a bad intention on Saul's part to give David to his daughter. Maybe Michal was really a spoiled brat. But he just wanted to make David his son-in-law, maybe to keep him close. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer, I guess. And Saul commanded his servants, "Communicate with David secretly." See how manipulative he is, using other people to speak to David. It's like a-How do you call that? Pre-conditioning of the mind, using other people. And so because David was finally convinced, so I guess he married Michal. So that's why he decided to marry Michal. He fought for her. And I don't think it's because David loved Michal. David just wanted to please Saul. That's how honorable this man David is. "Then Saul saw and knew the Lord was with David," verse 28, because he was able to kill and give 200 men. What was that, that was required of him? Four skins. He was able to bring 200 four... The requirement for having a wife, he was able to do. So then Saul knew that the Lord was with David, okay, and Saul was still more afraid of David. Okay. Wow. When you're afraid of someone, it's because you hate someone? That's so strange. Because Saul became David's enemy continually. Oh, wow. Okay. But you know what? Saul already knew his destination. He just refused to let go, right? And I know probably there are so many Sauls in your life, my love, and I pray against these Sauls. They will not harm you in the name of Yeshua, that you will be the next king and priest. Because being a king, it's not for your honor, for your glory, it's for the honor and glory of God. And so if these kings have to be removed, they will be. They will be to make way for you, and our sons and daughters who will take over our place. It's not like we want this kingdom for ourselves. We're doing this for God. It's not about us. We're doing it for God, for His righteousness, for His glory. So that is what makes us different from all the rest of the kings in this world who don't have Jesus and who are not fully surrendered to the King of Kings. And as we continue to verse 19, let's see how many minutes I have. Six more minutes, wow. Saul spoke to Jonathan. So even Jonathan, who is Saul's son, was greatly delighted in David. So instead of siding with his father, he sided with David. Okay. And Jonathan even spoke well of David to his father. And because Jonathan yet did not know really the intention of his dad. And then in verse, where was I? Let's see. So in this specific part where Michal lets David escape, and then Saul confronts Michal and says, "Why have you deceived me like this, and sent my enemy away so that he has escaped?" And Michal answered Saul. He said to me, "Let me go. Why should I kill you?" You know this part, ba. Michal pretending with his father to be siding with his father. It so reveals that Michal is not standing up for the truth, because if I were Michal and my dad was Saul, I would probably tell Saul, "You can't kill him over my dead body." Even if it's my father, I'm not like that. I'm not gonna play a double-faced. What I am, that's me. And that's why they're trying now to be kind to me, my parents, because they know me. They know my integrity. Once I go, I go. I'm not the kind that's double-minded, double-faced. They know me. They know me and what they lost, so later I'm just going to talk to you about that. Anyway, David fled and escaped and went to Samuel at Ramah. Wow. Ramah, or now it's called Ramallah. See, David escaped. So that's what we're going to do, love. You're both David and Samuel, and we're going to go back to Ramallah because this is also our stronghold, right? Then Saul sent messengers to take David. And when Saul was trying to pursue David, he went to Ramah. "Where are Samuel and David?" And someone said, "Indeed, they are in Naioth in Ramah."So he went there to Naioth in Ramah. And then the spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on and prophesied until he came to Naioth in Ramah. And he also stripped off his clothes and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and laid down naked all that day and night. Therefore they say, "Is Saul also among the prophets?" You know what? When our enemies try to pursue us, even how close they are to us, the spirit of God will intervene, love. The spirit of God will intervene and cause our enemies to act foolishly, to be filled with the spirit of God until you remember that preaching of Rabbi, who's this? Rabbi Curt Landry, when he did not believe that the manifestations of the spirit of God. He himself acted foolishly, rolled under the platform, and kept shouting, "Fire, fire," manifesting the fire. So I'm not saying that Rabbi Curt is a foolish man. No. I have the highest respect and honor for him. He is our rabbi. But those who mock God, and those who try to kill God's servants, it's going to happen the same way with them, the way it happened to a believer and a follower of Christ like Rabbi Curt Landry. Even our enemies will fall down and act foolishly and be like crazy. When the spirit of God overtakes them, wow, it will be hilarious and funny because God really will protect us. I believe this. And that's why really, love, I can say that to your enemies, "Oh, you really want to kill my husband? Well, over my dead body," because I really believe that I will not die yet until we complete the purpose of God in our lives. And Elijah and Moses will become Elisha and Joshua, our children. They will be the ones to complete really the work that has been assigned to us. They will fulfill it in the name of Yeshua. Amen.
B)Jesus’ words declare freedom — truth is not heavy, but liberating.
My Rhema:
Yes, love. So here in John 8, you said Jesus' words declare freedom. Correct. Of course. Truth is not heavy, it is liberating. It is liberating to those who are abiding in God, who are seeking God, who are seeking the truth. But those who love lies, they will hate the truth. Those who are seeking the truth will know the truth, and it will make them free. Okay? But those who are proud, who think they know what is true, they will be offended by everything we're going to say because what we say is really the truth. We carry Jesus. We carry the truth. But not everybody is coming from God. And those who are sinning are slaves to sin, exactly as Jesus said. Because a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides. So there is this slavery mentality and a child mentality, a child who will inherit the father's blessings. Okay? But a son abides forever. We are sons and daughters of God, so we will abide forever in His word. Therefore, if the Son Yeshua makes you free, you shall indeed be free. And they were arguing, "Oh, we are Abraham's descendants." And now I think this is about the Jewish people who are entitled, self-righteous, who think they are still chosen because they are Jewish by blood or by their culture or their nature. But these are the peoples who once crucified Jesus, will still crucify us, okay? Because they cannot accept what we will be saying. And what we are saying is that Yeshua is the Messiah. Okay. They will still claim their heritage. "Abraham is our father." Jesus refuted them, and so we will also refute them the same things that Jesus said to them. "If you were Abraham's children, you would do the works of Abraham. But now you seek to kill Me, a man who has told you the truth, which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father." And then they will say, "No, we are not born of fornication. We have one Father, God." And Jesus said to them, "If God were really your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me." The Father sent me. "Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do." Wow. See? Their father is really the devil. Those who hate us and our Jesus, because we carry Jesus with us, those who hate us, they are sons of the father of lies, sons of chicken Allah king, including the Ishmaelites who still believe that their Allah is the right king. When we tell them the truth, they will not believe us, and that is not our problem. Because He who is of God, those who listen to us and see God, hear God through our words, they really belong to God because they recognize us, they recognize our spirit. But those who do not hear, do not understand, are truly not coming from God. So is that our problem? No. That is their problem. We are already here to speak the words of truth, and these are the words of God. Jews answered and said to Him, verse 48, "Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and have a demon?" See? They're gonna say, "Oh, you come from Philippines, this idolatrous country. You come from Palestine, this God-forsaken people." And they will right away blaspheme us. No? Blaspheme the Holy Spirit within us. Wow. Anyway, love, just as Jesus was persecuted, yes, we will also be persecuted. We are already persecuted, but we should not be afraid because Jesus assures all His seekers, all His followers. Verse 51, "Most assuredly, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word, he shall never see death." See? You won't ever die, love. And this is where my confidence comes from. It comes from His word. Whether we die a martyr, whether we die the deathin Revelation 7, where the two witnesses are murdered. I don't think it's us, love. You know why? Because it will be one of our children or our children. It will be the twins that we have, Elisha and Joshua, who will fulfill this. And we will not die. We will be raptured with our children. After they kill the children, the dragon kills the children, and they will be raised back to life after three days. We will be caught up in heaven with them. And I believe this is when the rapture will truly happen, when the two witnesses are killed, and on the third day, they are raised to life, we will rise with them, love. This is what I believe now. For prophecies are in part. I did see myself dying a martyr's death in 2020, but at that time, I still did not know you. I still did not have this revelation of you and me and our 144,000. So as you have continued to reveal greater truths to me, greater truths are also revealed to me by God through His Word. So as I read John 8, we are assured in verse 51 that if we continue to keep His word, we will never see death. Never. Wow, love. I'm so excited. Oh my goodness. And we just need to continue to declare that Jesus is the great I Am. Even before Abraham, Jesus was I Am. Jesus is I Am. Jesus is the great I Am. "I am the way," he says, "I am the truth, and I am the life." See, everything is connected in the Old Testament to the New Testament, and I'm just so humbled that God would reveal these things to me. I know that not all people can see or have eyes like me. He chose me because He just chose me. And I really praise God so much. I really thank God so much. Thank you so much, Father. Oh, wow. Oh, wow. I'm so excited for what is coming. Okay.
C) Psalm 112 blesses our household with stability, light, and generosity.
Marie's Rhema:
Amen. In Psalms 112, "Praise the Lord. Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments." We're so blessed, love. We're so blessed because we fear God and we delight greatly in His commandments. In verse two, "His descendants," wow, our spiritual children, "will be mighty on earth. The generation of the upright will be blessed." Hallelujah. Just this first and second verse already, my heart is full. Never mind about the wealth, the riches that will be in his house. Never mind those things. The important thing is his righteousness endures forever. Because why? Because God will complete the work He started in us, and He is our righteousness. It is not our works and our efforts, but we rely on the finished works of Christ, and we rely on the Holy Spirit, the Ruach Elohim, who does great and mighty things, impossible things. "Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness; he is gracious, and full of compassion, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; he will guide his affairs with discretion. Surely he will never be shaken; the righteous will be in everlasting remembrance. He will not be afraid of evil tidings." Wow, this is speaking to me because I used to be afraid of spiritual attacks because I do get affected by them. But even so, for the many years that I have been working out the salvation of God with fear and trembling, it's not that I am afraid of the devil, because I know that the devil cannot hurt me. I'm afraid of falling short of the glory of God. This is really just missing the mark. But even though I'm afraid of these things, you, my love, Musab, you are faithfully reminding me that the blood of Christ has sealed us and has covered us. And that's why right now my heart is steadfast, because you're already there. God has provided for me a husband that covers me, and that's why I keep trusting in the Lord. My heart is established, and I am no longer afraid. "Until I see my desires upon my enemies." And it speaks of us, love. We see whatever we desire to happen to our enemies, it will truly happen because God is on our side. Okay. So there's really so much to expect and hope for in God, and I thank God for the words that He has given to me through you tonight. I thank you so much for preparing everything for me, that I do not have to stress. You did so much, and I'm just so blessed, love, and I just want to thank you for taking care of me. Thank you.
D) Proverbs teaches me to remain teachable, humble, and open to Your correction.
My Rhema:
Amen. In Proverbs 15, scoffers. In the last days, there will be scoffers and mockers, and these people do not love correction, do not love discipline, do not love the truth. And scoffers will never go with the wise. So you should not be surprised if there are scoffers. It's natural. Let's expect that. No need to be affected by their scoffing. "But a merry heart makes a cheerful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart, the spirit is broken." Wow. A merry heart makes a happy face. Today, you really made me happy, love, because you take care of me, you think of everything for me. You wrote the words to our songs, and all I have to do is to make the tune, the rhythm. And I believe this, God will give it to me when we are together because I will be so inspired, so in love. That's why there's so much to hope for. I'm so excited. And in verse 14: "The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge." The heart of him. Do you know who is your heart? You know it already. I am your heart. I am your heart who has understanding, seeking knowledge. So the understanding comes from you, and I am the one who seeks these things, the knowledge, the wisdom. And because you already have the wisdom, you help me to understand what I already know. You help me to understand because I have the vision, you have the details. You know what we talk about this Shabbat? Oh, wow, so beautiful. "But the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness." Okay, never mind the foolish people who just like to argue, who does not want to see the truth, does not want to be corrected. Love, and you know what I'm amazed with you is how you humble yourself. I know that you are so wise, but you still seek to learn from a child like me, because I know that what I bring to the table is not typical, traditional. What I bring to the table is really manna, simple food from heaven. It's simple. It's not sugar-coated with political correctness or religious terms, but it's like a child's simple language. And I'm so amazed that you have corrected yourself, humbled yourself to understand what I'm trying to say. Like you look at my toys and you say, "What is she trying to tell us that we not understand?" And then you finally, love, maybe after five years, you finally understood because you've been studying me, and I'm so honored, so happy, so cherished. I feel so loved that you tried to understand me. You were so humble to just come down under the table and understand what I'm trying to say. And for that, you are also a watchdog. I know you associate yourself more with a cat, but you've been waiting for me. Five years you've waited, and that's so long already, and that really makes you one of the best. You are the best watchdog for waiting for me. Who waits for me? Who waits? It's only Kobe that waits for me. And then who else? You. Kobe, literally Jacob, and you, our firstborn, Ishmael. So you are really, and our sons, have wisdom. Who will shine like the stars, like Daniel said in chapter 12. "The wise will shine like the stars." So that's us. Okay, love, and I thank you. This ends my rhema for Proverbs. So let me just affirm what you have written here. Musab, my husband, is the head and the brains, guiding with wisdom. Okay. I am the heart, Marie, sustaining with devotion. Together, we are one body walking in God's truth. Amen. We are not bound by fear, but freed by Christ's truth. Our covenant is protected, our household blessed, our hearts aligned with wisdom. Amen. And this is our prayer. Abba Father, thank you for your word tonight. Thank you for protecting David, your king, who is Musab, my Yusuf, my handsome Yusuf. Thank you for protecting us, Lord. Thank you, Jesus, for the truth that sets us free. Please bless our home with the light of Psalm 112, and keep us humble to receive correction. Amen. Strengthen Musab as the head, fill me as the heart, and let our union reflect Christ and his church, the bride. In the name of Yeshua, we pray. Amen and amen
