Daily Bread for the Soul
Today’s readings remind us that obedience, mercy, and wisdom are the foundation of freedom in Christ:
1 Samuel 15:1–35 — Saul’s disobedience shows the cost of pride; obedience brings blessing.
John 8:1–20 — Jesus offers mercy to the sinner and declares Himself the Light of the world.
Psalm 110:1–7 — The Lord reigns as King and Priest forever.
Proverbs 15:8–10 — The Lord delights in the prayers of the upright, but rejects the way of the wicked.
This manna is our nourishment: a reminder to walk in obedience, receive His mercy, and live in wisdom. May His light guide our steps today.
My Reflection on the Scriptures connected:
Shalom, Salam, love. Musab, my handsome Yusuf. So, I really thank God today for everything that He allowed me to go through, because everything really has a purpose. And right now, I am on the balcony. It's 10:37 in the evening, and seems like I'm already late for my devotional journaling, but God is never really late. And I come to trust the one who makes all things beautiful in His time. And it's really a very wonderful passage that we're reading in 1 Samuel 15. Because, yes, it talks about Saul's disobedience, and that disobedience actually is like witchcraft. Rebellion and disobedience to God is just the same as if people are worshiping Satan, because God is really king, and it's not about, "Oh, you have option to obey me or not." This is not treating Him as Lord. Once He is Lord and He is King, there's no option one, two, and three. It's that or nothing at all. So when Saul, the king at that time, disobeyed God deliberately because he wanted to please people, he wanted to keep the sheep. It's really about him trying to please people, and this is really his greatest downfall because he wanted to please people because he wanted to always be the king. He loved the glory, the honor of being a leader. Okay, so and this is the thing, that God has chosen us, you, because it was never your intention to be, I don't know, President of Palestine. No. Your heart is really about the people, your people, the children, the people in Gaza, the Palestinians, who they call themselves that, but are actually, I heard from someone describing them as Jordanians. They're just people from Jordan who tried to make a community and call themselves this, taking them out of scripture, call themselves this so that they can have a claim in Israel. So, it's really like that, that people choose to disobey God because they are naturally wicked and the spirit of God is not in them. Okay, so and connecting this to John 8, a woman was brought to Jesus and Jesus did not condemn the woman. And I believe that woman is me. The world is condemning me because, "Oh, she's imperfect. She had previous relationships. She's not holy. She's like this and she's like that," and okay. I'm not. I'm not holy because of me. I am holy because of Yeshua who died for me, for He is my righteousness. And this is the reason why that when we choose to obey God, whether we feel we are worthy or not, when we just choose to obey God, He gives us the victory. And that's why even now, when Jesus said, saying, "I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall by no means walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." That's why we both have the light of life, because we follow Jesus completely, fully abandoning ourselves to Him. Okay? And the people will say, "Oh, you're testifying concerning yourself." I hear the videos that you sent to me today while I was driving. I hear your debates with people, and this is what people are saying, "Oh, you're testifying about yourself," blah, blah, blah. Mm. And then Jesus says, "Oh, because my testimony is true. I know where I came from and where I am going, but you do not know where I come from or where I am going," because these people cannot recognize you, because they are sons of the devil. They don't have the spirit of God in them. Okay? And then Jesus continues saying, "You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one." Okay? Because at that time when Jesus came, the first time He came to Earth, He wasn't a king yet. He was a lamb. And verse 16, He continues to say, "But even if I do judge, my judgment is true, for I am not alone, but I and the Father who sent me."And in your law also it has been written that the testimony of two men is true. I am the one who testifies concerning myself, and the Father who sent me testifies concerning me. And so there is a rhema as I read this, love, because when Jesus said, "You judge according to the flesh. I judge no one, but even if I do judge, my judgment is true." Okay. Because now I am already a judge, Queen Sheba, Jeho-Sheba. Okay? The judge, the saint, the end-time saint judging the world, judging fallen angels. My judgment is true because I am not alone. This is really my words. Jesus' words becomes my word because the Father sent me. Okay? And at the same time, that is what is also happening to you. You even came first before me because you were born four years before me. "And in your law," verse 17, "it has been written that the testimony of two men is true." So now, love, it's not just I and the Father, and Jesus who sent me, and you and the Father, and Jesus who sent you. Now the testimony becomes two because it's you testifying about me and me testifying about you. Now there's two people testifying about each other. Okay? So this is really wonderful, what I'm receiving now in His word. And it doesn't matter whatever people think about us. What matters is what you think of me, what God thinks of me, and what I think of God, and what I think of you. This is what really matters to me. I don't care what the world thinks. As long as you're pleased with me, love, and you're happy with me, then I'm complete, I'm satisfied. And now, I'll be reading in Psalms 110, which I believe is a wonderful passage that you chose for us. "Jehovah declares to my lord, 'Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.' Jehovah will send forth the scepter of your strength from Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies. Your people will offer themselves willingly in the day of your warfare, in the splendor of their consecration. Your young men will be to you like the dew from the womb of the dawn." Wow. So, our young men, these are our spiritual children, love. They won't even need to be hired or to be offered, but they will willingly offer themselves to serve the King with us in this end-time war. "In the splendor of their consecration, your young men will be to you like the dew from the womb of the dawn." Like my womb. Whoa, my womb of the dawn. Yiska, the dawn, has come. You know? The night has passed and the morning has come. This is what my name means, and they're coming from my womb, spiritual womb. Verse four, "Yahuwah has sworn, and he will not change. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek." Oh my gosh, love. You are a priest and a king, just like our Yeshua, our King. "The Lord is at your right hand. He will shatter kings in the day of his anger. He will execute judgment among the nations. He will fill the place with corpses. He will shatter the head over a great land." Amazing. Hallelujah. "He will drink from the brook by the way; therefore he will lift up his head." Wow, the brook by the way. And you know who else has been drinking by the brook? It's Elijah. It's the prophets. It's you and me, and we are that end-time prophets. Moses and Eliha. Okay? "Therefore, he will lift up his..." God is lifting up our heads. And this is really what excites me, that all the promises of God is coming to its fulfillment at this time when you and I will be married. Okay? And now in Proverbs 15, verse 8 to 10. Let's read. "The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to Yahuwah, but the prayer of the upright is his delight." Amen. "The way of the wicked man is an abomination to Jehovah, but he loves one who pursues righteousness." Wow, He really loves us, love. Because this is what our heart's desire is. When we seek the kingdom of God, we seek His righteousness. But the wicked man is an abomination to Yahuwah, Yahweh. Whatever you call Him, He's Yud Heh Vav Heh. "There is grievous correction for one who forsakes the way, and he who hates reproof will die again." This is what yesterday's proverbs was all about. I remember this. Verse five, it says, "A fool despises his father's correction." Who? The Father. Abba Father. "But he who regards reproof gets prudence." Okay, when we allow ourselves to be corrected, we become prudent. "But those who will not be corrected after many rebukes, grievous correction will come upon them, and they will be broken beyond repair." Wow, this is so scary. And this is what really terrifies me, that I will be broken beyond repair because I was disobedient. No, it cannot be, God. And that's why we have to work out our salvation with fear and trembling. "For he who hates reproof will die." Wow. Those who hate discipline, who hate correction, who hate the Father pruning them, wow, they will all die. They will all die. And this is the worst death, when we are separated from the Lord our God. And so I want to pray a prayer of gratitude, unto our God.
My prayers:
Our father, Yahuwah, Elohim, Great I Am, Creator King, I bless you. I bless you today and forever and always with my husband, Musab Yusef. Father, I pray that you continue, Lord God, to speak to us each and every day as the day dawns and draws near, that we will be together and that you will fulfill your promise to us, oh God. For your will be done, oh God. This is our prayer, let your will be done. And I thank you so much, God, for choosing us. Lord, who are we? We are but ordinary men who choose to believe you and surrender our lives completely, abandoning ourselves to you. Lord, we are so honored, we are so grateful, we are so humbled that you would choose us. And Father, even as we carry out your will and purpose, I pray, Father, that you sanctify my love for Musab as you sanctify your covenant for the both of us. Thank you, Lord, that every day I am learning and growing and knowing this man that you have chosen for me to marry. Thank you so much, God. There are no words to describe, God, how grateful I am. How grateful, how blessed, how happy, how joyful I am that you would give me such an amazing, intelligent, thoughtful, obsessed-with-his-wife kind of husband. He's such an amazing man, and he's more than what I have asked or imagined. So I pray, God, that you bless Musab. May you continue to put a smile on his face. Give joy, Lord God, let that joy overflow in his heart as the days draw near that we are coming together as one. Father, we just want to give you all the glory, all the honor, and the praise, for you alone, our God, are worthy. Worthy of our utmost devotion, our lives, our love. You alone, Father God. Let your will be done, let your kingdom come. And to Musab Hassan Yusef and Marie Christine Yu Yusef, in the name of your son, Yeshua, the Father, and the Holy Spirit, Ruach Elohim, amen.
